About Air Arabia

The Middle East’s first low-cost carrier, Air Arabia was established in 2003 by the Ruler of Sharjah and the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, and is now a publicly-listed company based in Sharjah with secondary hubs at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, UAE as well as Casablanca and Cairo.

What does it include?

Air Arabia’s network includes services within the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Europe. Air Arabia has established JV subsidiary airlines in Egypt and Morocco with local investors in each country. This is part of the airline’s strategy to create the first pan-Arab airline.

Where does it serve?

Air Arabia operates from four hubs in the UAE, Morocco and Egypt serving over 170 destinations across the globe.

Over 14 new routes added in 2019 alone and the business registered a 47% increase in net profits in the first half of the year. Turnover increased 20% to AED 2.1 billion.

Seat factor in the first half of 2019 stood at 84% – one of the highest in the world.

During 2019

During the first half of 2019, Air Arabia launched its new complimentary in-flight entertainment system ‘SkyTime’ that allows passengers to live stream digital content on smartphones, tablets or laptops.

The airline managed to provide its free entertainment system to customers while ensuring the cost impact on the bottom-line was marginal.

Lowest Cost

During the first half of 2019, Air Arabia maintained its record being one of the world’s lowest operational cost overthought the carrier continued with its ambitious expansion strategy.
